Having gone through various legal challenges, the proposed development was granted outline planning permission in June 2014 (planning application CB/12/03613/OUT).  This outline development comprised of up to 5,150 dwellings, retail, public house, take away, offices, industrial units and storage and distribution, hotel, care home, community and leisure facilities, petrol filling station, car parking, substation, energy centre. The planning permission contained many planning conditions which developers are currently seeking to discharge.
