Community Grants Scheme


The Council have been delighted to support a variety of local organisations during 2018/19 through the Community Grant Scheme. The work which takes place in our community from these and all the other charitable, voluntary and not for profit organisations is amazing and contributes to our community in so many ways. A big thank you to all those who help manage, organise and volunteer.

 Over £21,251 has been awarded to the following Key Partners: 

Dunstable & District CA


Keech Hospice Care

Community Action Bedfordshire (Formerly Voluntary & Community Action)

South Beds Dial A Ride

Houghton Regis Memorial Hall

A further commitment has been made to accept Full House Theatre as a Key Partner. They will receive their first Key Partner grant in 2019-20.

In addition to this a Large Capital Grant has been agreed for Magpas Air Ambulance of £2,500 to support this life saving service in the purchase of a new helicopter.

 At a local level the council have also awarded a total of £3,385.05 to the following groups: 

Parkside 50+ Club

Groundwork East

Hawthorn Park School

Hub Café

Meaningful Education

Networking at Dunstable

Academy of Central Bedfordshire

The Community Grants Scheme has been so successful this year, it is sad to report that the council’s budget for community grants has now all been spent.


HRTC are delighted to announce that the grants scheme for 2019/20 onwards has now been launched.

You can apply for up to £1000 for capital projects (50% match funding is required).
